We are currently searching for an experienced Transportation Construction Manager II to support our CEI and Construction Management operations in Pennsylvania.
The position is located in Susquehanna, PA area.
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for overall construction project performance including financial success, schedule, subcontract management, and client relations.
Determine contract requirements and construction management / inspection staffing needs, project and staff supervision, while providing technical guidance and mentoring to staff to deliver quality projects.
Manage cost control systems, review and analyze plans, facilitate the bidding/negotiations/buyout process with a general contractor, review all forms (bidding, construction, or other) of requests for information (RFI's), examine and negotiate change orders, and review and comment on submittals.
Oversee day to day oversight of construction activities, progress estimates and payments, and project closeout Maintaining relationships in the construction community to provide market intelligence as well as ensure consideration for future business development opportunities.
What you need to have:
Civil Engineering degree or equivalent 5 - 10 years of experience in Construction Management/Construction Engineering for heavy civil and transportation construction Experience in Bridge and Highway Interchange construction projects Demonstrated experience in QA/QC development and project implementation.
CMIT or CCM is a plus but not required Must have a valid driver's license Characteristics of a successful Volkert team member:
