WQED is a member of the Public Media Workforce Collaborative, a group of four similarly structured public media providers in Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit and Pittsburgh working together to meet the needs of their rapidly evolving communities and to increase their financial sustainability by attracting, developing and retaining a more diverse and highly-skilled workforce and advancing their organizational cultures.

Project Coordinator Reporting directly to WQED Multimedia's President and CEO, you will support some of the highest-priority projects across our organization.
You will assist the CEO on a wide variety of activities and handle confidential matters with discretion.
In some cases, you'll handle projects from conception to completion.
In others, you'll work as part of larger, multi-disciplinary teams.
You'll experience all facets of public broadcasting, education and community service.
Candidates must exercise excellent professional judgment, show initiative, demonstrate aptitude for strong written and verbal communication, have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
You should be creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is results-driven and community-oriented.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Actively contribute to WQED's senior leadership team, including assisting in scheduling and setting agendas, attending meetings, taking detailed notes, assigning and tracking specific follow-up action items.
Complete a broad variety of administrative tasks including:
managing an extremely active calendar, composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential, compiling documents for internal and external meetings.
Prioritize conflicting needs; handling matters proactively and seeing projects through to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
Research, prioritize, and follow-up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature.
Determine the appropriate course of action, referral or response.
As a gatekeeper, create win-win situations for direct access to the CEO's time and office.
Follow up on professional contacts made by the CEO, supporting the cultivation of ongoing community relationships.
Assist the CEO in disseminating his thoughts and perspective, including assisting with team communication and social media promotion.
Work closely and effectively with the CEO to keep him well-informed of upcoming commitments and deadlines, following up appropriately.
Act as a barometer, having a sense for the issues taking place in the organization and keeping the CEO updated Required education and skills:
Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and prioritization skills.
Able to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Able to easily and comfortably switch between day-to-day tactics and project planning.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity.
Highly resourceful team player, also able to be extremely effective independently.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with social media and project software applications, or a quick study with new computer programs.
Interest in media and communications preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
